Breathwork is powerful; breathwork in the hammock is even more powerful. The hammock acts like a nervous system amplifier, reinforcing states of deep relaxation when resting in it and, conversely, amplifying playful “fight/flight” states when using it for aerial yoga.
Floating Hammock NSR (Nervous System Regulation) is a system that uses the hammock, aerial yoga, breathwork and polyvagal theory to develop nervous system agency, the ability to identify and recover from stress both chronic and acute.
Most of us are chronically stressed and don’t have many reference points for feeling truly relaxed. This unique system identifies stress responses in the body and cultivates a deeper reference point for relaxation. Combined with specific breathwork done at home, clients feel a significant reduction in chronic stress and increased ability to manage and recover from acute stress. Clients often experience a decrease in resting heart rate and blood pressure (if high) and increase in HRV (heart rate variability).
